Any suggestions?

I'm trying to think of something for the kids in the local surf club to do as a Christmas treat. The only suggestion we have is to go bowling. They already swim with the club so that wouldn't be a treat. Its got to be suitable for girls and boys around the age of 7-12. If anyone from around the west of Cornwall knows of an activity to do, please give me a shout.

Firework display

Thanks to the Unicorn for a very impressive display. People braved the wind and the rain to see what Porthtowan had to offer, they wasn't disappointed. Although with the high off shore winds some of the fireworks reached the cars on the car park and was hitting and bouncing of them, also people had to dodge from randomly falling stars. At this point it was quite scary.
Over all it was well worth it.

Able Tasman South Island NZ

South Island has to be the most gorgeous place I have ever had the opportunity to visit. Able Tasman National Park is a must to see, you can travel by ferry to the furthest point , spend a few hours walking through the tracks with amazing scenery and views, then catch the ferry back. Whilst on the ferry you get the opportunity to see Seal Island and many a time see dolphins in the crystal clear water.

New Zealand

New Zealand is a beautiful country, lush green land full of geo- thermal springs. Its best going there in the winter months to see this sight, from a distance you spot lots of little patches of steam rising above the ground.

In some places, North and South Island you can find natural spa baths. They have different ones all at different temperatures. You can pick the one you feel most comfortable in or have a go in all of them. They are amazing. Locals use them at the end of the day no matter what the season or weather is, they find it very theraputic.

Bonfire Night

Bonfire night in Porthtowan came and went without much excitement. The village are use to having the Bonfire and Firework display at the Unicorn on the night. This year was different, with new owners of the Unicorn up until last week there wasn't to be anything happening. But, yesterday as I was driving home I spotted a mound of wood and sorts building up in the Bonfire spot. I quickly found out from the Village shop that 'yes' there is to be a Bonfire and Firework display on Saturday night. This means that Porthtowan will be very lively tonight with visitors coming far and wide.
Lets hope it matches up to previous fantastic displays.

summer's gone, winter's looming

Yes, Winter is looming. Visited friends and family in the North, seen all weathers. Snow, sleet and frost, you forget just how cold it can be. I think I will be buying a new quilt, unlike mine while I was away I was snuggled warm and cozy in a feather and down quilt, with the window open on a frosty night. I'm normally with a hot water bottle to keep me snug on those long winter nights!
